The signing ceremony was part of the region's first private airline's anniversary celebrations, which started on October 30th with a groundbreaking 4-day sale that offered low fares to any of its 13 destinations.

During the event, Mr.Marwan Boodai, Chairman and CEO of Jazeera Airways, made a presentation highlighting the achievements and challenges of the company during its first operational year. He noted that since the inauguration of Jazeera Airways on 30 October 2005, it has carried well over 500,000 passengers to more than 13 different destinations. The airline has been putting in huge efforts since inception to bring about a sea change in aviation models known in the region and the nature of services.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr.Boodai, said, "We are delighted and honored to welcome on board HH Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah. His presence at our anniversary celebrations is a noble gesture of encouragement. This strengthens our resolve to make our team work harder to achieve our vision of offering customers more choice, independence and control of their travel plans."

By investing heavily into a solid IT foundation, Jazeera Airways built a new model tasked with raising operational efficiency by incorporating the latest revenue management procedures into the company and installing state-of-the-art technologies, enabling travelers to become more independent in their bookings and payment.

"Jazeera Airways has added capacity combined with attractive fares and ongoing marketing has had a spill over effect on the airlines and in turn stimulated the entire market to growth levels the industry has not seen in years.

'The extent of this effect became clear when airport statistics began reporting and feeling the impact of the increase in travelers - this phenomenon has come to be known as the 'Jazeera Airways Effect', which has not only impacted Alexandria, Amman, Beirut, and Damascus but the majority of the cities Jazeera Airways operates to," concluded Marwan Boodai.

The 'Jazeera Airways effect' has grown Kuwait Alexandria traffic by 35.6%, Kuwait Amman traffic by 19%, Kuwait Beirut traffic by 31%, Kuwait Damascus traffic by 35%.
