"We are delighted that Mashreqbank has agreed to make a considerable investment in developing a bank account that specifically targets the needs of Emirati students," said Sheikh Nahyan. "Students have particular requirements and this account will suite their lifestyle and starts them on the right path in their career and life."

"We would like to thank Sheikh Nahyan for entrusting Mashreqbank to introduce this unique service and work hand in hand with the ministry to ensure its success," said Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair. "Today's students are the business leaders, civic servants and decision makers of tomorrow. Our Emirati students' package recognises their unique requirements and will enable students to save money as well as fulfilling their daily lifestyle needs smoothly."

The package, which features both a current and an easy savings element as a combined product, will be introduced this year at a HCT campus. HCT students worked alongside the bank's own staff in designing and trialling the new banking package, so it has largely been created by Emirati youths for Emirati youths. In addition to having both a current and savings elements, the product will include a lifestyle value pack and preferential credit facilities on a selective basis.

The account has been specially designed to provide students with all the most essential elements of a banking relationship that reflects their daily lifestyle, including easy online transfers between accounts. At the same time it enables students to stay in touch with today's e-commerce technology and assists them in making wise financial planning decisions.

"Mashreq, as the largest private bank in the UAE is a responsible corporate citizen and a pioneer in UAE banking. Their efforts to impart financial life skills amongst young UAE nationals and help raise their awareness to plan wisely for the future are essential" said Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of HCT.

From her side Ms. Shatha Al Meamari, Emiratization Manager in Mashreq Bank said: "The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has been working with a clear mission to develop the human resources of the UAE, to help develop a strong national workforce. They are an excellent source for UAE talents. The cooperation between our two organizations will grow and expand even more with the support of His Excellency and the management of HCT".

"Mashreqbank has always played a pioneering role in introducing cutting edge products in the UAE, which have been received with appreciation from our customers. In addition to innovative products we also strive to cater to different sectors of the community based on their expectations of satisfying banking relationship. This has included locating branches and ATMs in locations convenient to the large college and university communities," ended Al Ghurair.
