Dubai Healthcare City appoints new CEO

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of Tatweer, has announced the appointment of UAE national Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to realize the strategic objectives of the world's first integrated healthcare free zone.

Dr. Al Hashimi will be accountable for Dubai Healthcare City's operational management and quality, development of education, new businesses and customer relationship. She will also oversee resource allocation to drive consistent excellence throughout DHCC. Her close working relations with Dubai Healthcare City's partners at Harvard Medical International will further enhance DHCC's delivery of key value propositions.

Commenting on her appointment, Ahmad Sharaf, Senior Vice President of Tatweer for Energy and Healthcare said: "A core component of the clinical community's vision is to ensure proficient management to drive forward this distinctive project.

"Dr. Al Hashimi's strong execution skills, her proven ability to lead top performing teams and her track record of success will prove invaluable to the growth of DHCC. Her appointment as the new CEO is an important and exciting milestone for the region's leading healthcare facility."

Dr. Al-Hashimi first joined DHCC as Director of Education at Harvard Medical School Dubai Center Institute for Post Graduate Education and Research (HMSDC), responsible for the implementation and supervision of the institute's educational programmes. Her activities also focused on establishing organizational strategy, and educational plans for post-graduate training at DHCC and laying the foundations for clinical research programme.

Dr. Al-Hashimi said: "I feel honoured to be given the mandate to steer this prestigious project. With the support of our highly dedicated and talented management team, I am confident DHCC will deliver superior and reliable healthcare services to the entire UAE community and the region."

In addition to her extensive experience in the healthcare sector gained from the United States and the UAE, Dr. Al-Hashimi holds a doctorate in Public Health from the University of Texas, Houston.
