It's the second year in a row the vendor has won the award having taken it last year for its Norton Internet Security package. Norton AntiVirus protects users against the current landscape of evolving and increasingly dangerous risks. Norton AntiVirus' proven detection and removal capabilities can protect against infections from ever installing on users' computers. Its latest version of the solution - Norton Anti-Virus 2007 has recently been released.

"Over the past year, the Internet threat landscape has taken a dramatic turn. Large, widespread virus outbreaks are being replaced by groups of higher frequency, low-visibility attacks aimed at financial gain rather than notoriety. In addition, security vulnerabilities in operating systems and applications are being discovered and exploited more rapidly than ever," said Sanjiv Vij, Symantec's Country Manager - Consumer for Middle East and North Africa.

"Winning the Windows ME award for best security software is confirmation that Symantec is producing a product that meets and ever increasing need. And as the recognized leader in consumer security, Symantec is committed to delivering proven products that help users stay ahead of this changing landscape. "

"With the release of Norton AntiVirus 2007 and Norton Internet Security 2007, we are providing consumers world-class protection that automatically identifies and neutralizes online threats as soon as they attempt to attack a user's computer—without requiring the user to make complicated decisions about their security."
