Mr. Bin Sulayem said,
""The re-launch of this website is extremely important to us as trade is the backbone of Dubai and our customers will benefit from the speed and accuracy that this e-service will provide. This is not just a point of contact for our customers but a unique portal through which transactions can be made effectively between the various business units. The significant aspect of this portal is that we have the capacity to handle a vast number of transactions online which makes it easier for our customers to avail of our services."
He added, "The collaboration between the iTC and the teams of Dubai Customs, Customer Service, DPWorld, Corporate Services, Jafza, and DMCC has set the standard for future successes of projects spanning across multiple business units within Dubai World."
Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General, Dubai Customs, said, "I am excited by the opportunities that Dubai Trade represents to us as an organisation. Dubai Customs are pioneering the export of our business model to other countries and are making a heavy investment in this technology, not only to service our customers, but to better understand and manage our processes and thus our business, now and into the future."
This release of Dubai Trade is the fruit of an initiative started in early 2006, driven by a committee including DP World, Dubai Customs, Jafza and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
The Dubai Trade portal's new look complements the performance and inherent infrastructure dynamics of the underlying application.
Dubai Trade involved a new application and infrastructure framework that provides a solid base for future application development, enhancement, maintenance and a sound foundation for providing much higher levels of scalability.
A new standard set of tools and processes was established to be followed and used in subsequent initiatives thus raising the quality of the products overall;
The business benefits of Dubai Trade portal include enhanced performance, which opens the website to a much greater number of users, transactions & data volumes, and vastly improved system stability.
