Routine medical check-ups can save your life, says Jebel Ali Hospital

The 'Family Health Week', organised by Jebel Ali Hospital saw more than 10,000 visitors take part in the games and activities themed on health education at the China Court, Ibn Battuta mall.

People of all ages visited the kiosk for medical consultations with the hospital's specialist doctors, and 2000 adults were tested for blood sugar and blood pressure.

A four-day study on a random sample of 1,090 visitors, revealed more than 10 per cent with higher blood sugar (RBS) levels than normal.

Throughout the week, Jebel Ali Hospital specialists spoke on various health issues, including paediatrics, gynaecology, plastic surgery, dentistry, ear, nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedics, acupuncture and physiotherapy.

Key supporters of the event were Abbott, EGO, Global Pharma, Johnson & Johnson and Oral B who supplied free gifts, medical, dental and nutritional products to all visitors.
