During the meeting attendants discussed the preparation of the match and the importance of the Gulf Air initiative to support sport events.

"Sport has always been an ideal platform to spread peace all over the world and to support the human causes," said Gulf Air Manager of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship Hisham Abu Al Fateh, at the event.

"Gulf Air is committed to establish strong relations with the Arab communities by sponsoring the sports events and sports talents. We are working closely with the Arab sports organizations to leverage these activities."

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Bahrain, has become an integral part of the Omani international football set up, following a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal for the national senior, Olympic, Under-23 and Under-19 teams, signed earlier this year.

"Gulf Air believes in the importance of investing in sports activities for the mutual benefits of Gulf Air and the participating teams," said Gulf Air General Manager Jordan Abdul Hussain Haider.

"Gulf Air continues to support many local and international sport activities. We are also title sponsor and the official carrier of Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2007 and a major sponsor of Rally Oman."
