S. A. Al-Rajhi Group selects Sage ERP

S. A. Al-Rajhi Holding Co. and its subsidiaries, a Top 10 Saudi Group of Companies has chosen Sage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to manage its diversified businesses in Saudi Arabia.

Sage ERP will help improve operational efficiency across the group's many business units.

The first phase of the implementation will involve installing an 80 concurrent user system in six factories including National Factory for Foodstuff, Riyadh Carton Factory, Al-Watania Plastics, Riyadh Modern Factory for Containers Manufacturing, Al-Watania Metal Can Factory, Al-Watania Block (Bricks). Algosaibi Information Systems Co., a Sage Enterprise Partner plans to roll out the entire implementation in 11 months.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Rajhi, General Manager of S. A. Al-Rajhi Holding Company said, "We chose Sage ERP after going through an evaluation process that involved many factors with different weights. Some important factors included system functionality, cost, ease of use, ease of implementation, vendor capability and reputation. Sage ERP and Algosaibi Information System achieved the best overall score."

Ayad Algosaibi, Managing Director of Algosaibi Information Systems said, "S. A. Al-Rajhi Group wanted a system that could be customized and offered International support. With the first phase of the implementation progressing smoothly, Al-Rajhi is now planning to rollout Sage ERP in other group companies including Al Watania, Dajen restaurant chain, Al Rajhi Property, Real Estate Investments and the Head office."

Dr. Zeyad Al-hekail, General Manager for IT of S. A. Al-Rajhi Holding Company said, "The implementation of Sage will help the Group companies achieve four important goals. First, it will help improve control within the group companies through better integration. Second, it will help lower inventory holding. Third, the system will help reduce operation costs. Fourth, better reporting will lead to more informed decisions."

"In the final round, we evaluated 7 vendors on 26 different criteria with different weights. The complete evaluation process took over 8 months. We chose to begin the rollout by implementing Sage Finance & Distribution modules in the industrial business units. Future plans include installing a manufacturing solution." said Dr. Zeyad.
