Ashley joins the Dubai banking and finance team from Taylor Wessing where he was a partner in their European finance group.

In order to meet an unprecedented expansion in client demand, Clyde & Co has rapidly expanded its corporate practice over recent years. The UAE practice has needed to continually widen its product offering to meet increasingly sophisticated requirements and the addition of Ashley to the team will enhance the range and depth of financial services expertise.

Ashley has worked on a significant number of high value and high quality banking and finance transactions and his experience will prove invaluable in the Middle East market where the growth of sophisticated financial structures looks likely to accelerate significantly in the short term.

Jonathan Silver, who heads up Clyde & Co's Middle East based practice, noted that "Ashley will be the 13th Clyde & Co partner based in the Middle East, a position which is vastly different to the five partner practice based in the region less than three years ago.

"Ashley has a strong track record of delivering on major financing projects and brings a wealth of City experience. He will add to the core strength of our finance and corporate offering and allow the firm to deliver an even greater array of quality legal services to clients both in the Middle East and the wider Asian region."

Ashley added, "I am delighted to be joining a rapidly expanding legal practice in the growing and exciting business environment that is the Gulf region. There are many financing opportunities for transacting deals of all types with increasingly sophisticated banking and financing structures, including shariah compliant structures, reflecting the dynamic development of the Gulf economies. Clyde & Co continues to serve and compliment its' clients' own business development and my appointment underlines the firm's commitment to its clients and to the region."
