A number of organizations, government and economic groups from both countries will participate in this event with the objective of sharing opinions and increasing investment opportunities between the UAE and UK.

The participation of the SCTDA comes as Sharjah's various economic sectors has been experiencing an exponential growth rate while the UAE has become one of ten biggest trading partners with the UK in the world. Last year Emirati imports from Britain exceeded £5.4billion.

H.E. Mohamed Ali Al Noman, Director of SCTDA, stressed the importance of their participation at an event that promotes trading relations between both countries. He also spoke of the growth in the strength of the economic sectors of Sharjah and the strategies set by its government to enhance and increase the number of economic partnerships locally, regional and internationally. Here he emphasized the significant contribution these economic gatherings can have in influencing these vital sectors for progress and growth.

He added: "We are seeking to strengthen our position via participation at such events. Here we can establish important negotiations that go on to promote economic collaboration between the UAE - specifically Sharjah - and the United Kingdom. This involvement is a clear expression showing the depth of trading and tourism relations occurring between our two nations. The United Arab Emirates ranks on the 9th position internationally and 1st regionally in on the amount of trading with the UK; an indication of our strong economic relations."

The participation of Sharjah in this important event introduces the investment opportunities it possesses to the UK business community, demonstrating its healthy economic environment that already attracts investments from all over the world. The sharjah delegation to the UK includes the sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Department of Economic Development, Sharjah Airport Free Zone, Al Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah Municipality, Dana Gas and Al Hanoo Holding.

The Sharjah section is anticipated to be the most distinct in the show and is expected to have a strong response and attendance by a number of VIPs and economic groups, that includes the British, Arabic and International Media in addition to great number of visitors and potential investors.

Notably, the Emirate of Sharjah last year saw its economy have a healthy performance across its various sectors, reflecting the success witnessed across the UAE on a whole. Foreign investment from real estate and tourism was particularly strong.

Sharjah has one of the biggest industrial areas in UAE that include 19 industrial zones. By this, the emirate is considered the heart of the UAE's industry because it contains 48% of the country's industrial sector revenues.
