The solution being implemented by InfoSys Global, a Mitel Gold-accredited channel partner, is future-proof for further expansion by providing IP Trunking for easy integration and connection with other IP PBX-equipped MOI branches.
Public Security is the first division within the Ministry of Interior to adopt an all-IP solution and this falls in line with the Kingdom's move towards a more liberalised telecommunications market. In early September 2006 an announcement was made regarding the drive to offer affordable Internet access to all regions of the Kingdom, alongside the planned online availability of more than 150 e-Government services by 2010.
'We found the Mitel solution, not only matching our current needs, but also capable of addressing those of our future expansion and IP networking requirements kingdom-wide, said Dr. Abdulrahman A. Al Shenaifi, Senior Advisor, Information Technology & Security, Office of the Assistant for Security Affairs, Ministry of Interior, KSA.
'I am thrilled with the association with the Ministry of Interior through this solution and I am excited at both the opportunity and the potential. This is indicative of Mitel's proven technology and appreciation by the MOI. With well-established facilities in the capital Riyadh and spread through a network of Gold-accredited channel partners, Mitel continues to reflect its commitment to the Saudi IP market and enterprise customers of both private and public sectors of which the MOI is a model of an early adopter.'
'said Hisham Amili, Mitel GM, GCC.
'It is this kind of penetration that Infosys is trained and equipped to support. Our expertise and Mitel's market-leading IP communications solutions came out on top yet again and will be adding real value to the Ministry of Interior', said Eng. Suhail A. Qadir, Operations Manager, Infosys Global.
