First division of KSA Ministry of Interior to go Mitel IP

Mitel will deploy its flagship 3300 MXe -controller and will provide top-of-the range XML- and HTML-enabled IP devices. Also included in the solution are Mitel softphones with integrated conferencing and collaboration tools, such as application sharing capabilities for all standard office programmes, like Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

The solution being implemented by InfoSys Global, a Mitel Gold-accredited channel partner, is future-proof for further expansion by providing IP Trunking for easy integration and connection with other IP PBX-equipped MOI branches.

Public Security is the first division within the Ministry of Interior to adopt an all-IP solution and this falls in line with the Kingdom's move towards a more liberalised telecommunications market. In early September 2006 an announcement was made regarding the drive to offer affordable Internet access to all regions of the Kingdom, alongside the planned online availability of more than 150 e-Government services by 2010.
