Announcing the move at a press conference during GITEX 2006, Hari Padmanabhan, Deputy Managing Director, 3i Infotech said, "Saudi Arabia is not only making investments in infrastructure initiatives, but is bringing about significant changes in the regulatory environment for the financial markets.
Elaborating on the rationale for the move, Mr Padmanabhan said
"By establishing a strong presence in Saudi Arabia, we will provide an array of proven solutions to Saudi customers, thus empowering them to leverage technology for increase in productivity and improved profitability."
He further added, "We are also looking to grow our operations by recruiting the best local talent available. This will create employment opportunities for qualified and experienced professionals as well as fresh nationals graduating from Saudi universities".
The reforms in Saudi Arabia's BFSI sector are also reflected in the Government initiatives. Major government initiatives including Jeddah's Economic City is encouraging foreign direct investment. These initiatives would exponentially increase demand for technology-related services and solutions. 3i Infotech with its strong Government practice and numerous government related assignments in India and USA, which includes both consultancy and implementation of IT projects, is well poised to tap into the Government sector and offer cutting edge IT solution.
