Dubai Industrial City appoints new CEO

Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, announced today the appointment of Rashed Al Ansari as the new CEO of Dubai Industrial City to consolidate one of the Middle East's largest manufacturing hubs.
Khalid Al Malik will continue his association with Dubai Industrial City as Senior Vice-President of Industry and Knowledge at Tatweer. Al Malik will provide strategic guidance to Tatweer's entities that fall under Industry and Knowledge and provide key support to Rashed Al Ansari's role.
Saeed Al Muntafiq, CEO of Tatweer, said: "Khalid Al Malik has led Dubai Industrial City since its inception and has established solid foundations to secure steady and sustained growth. However, with his rapidly growing responsibilities within Tatweer, it is now time to hand over to Al Ansari, who will take the industrial development forward as a dedicated CEO."
Al Ansari has extensive experience in real estate management. Earlier, he was the Principal Executive and Coordinator for Commercial Affairs of Companies at Dubai Holding. He has also served as Secretary for the Dubai Holding Board.
In May 2005, Rashed was appointed a Board Member of Dubai Mercantile Exchange, a joint venture between Tatweer and NYMEX to setup the first energy futures exchange in the Middle East.
Al Ansari has previously worked as Project Manager for The Executive Office - Dubai, responsible for developing financial feasibility studies for several master development projects in real estate.
"Rashed was a logical selection for the position of CEO of Dubai Industrial City," Al Muntafiq said. "His extensive experience and vast knowledge base in real estate management has prepared him well for his new role. We are confident Rashed will leverage his capabilities and potential to drive the development forward."
Rashed holds a bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK. He also has a Masters in Business Administration from the Leeds University Business School, UK.
An Associate member of the Institute for Mechanical Engineering - UK and a member of the Urban Land Institute, he is also a member of Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Program. On the social front, he is an active member of a charity program dedicated to raising funds for the visually impaired.
