'Colleague Hotel', as it has become known, has been designed to provide an up-market, hotel-style residence for InterContinental Abu Dhabi employees, as well as visiting family and friends. First opened in August, the building now houses 400 staff across almost 50 nationalities. This number will go up to 600 when the hotel is re-opened at the end of the year after a complete refurbishment.
'The apartments within the new building for our staff are designed and built to the highest standards, reinforcing the InterContinental Hotels Group's commitment to its invaluable employees as we prepare for the reopening of one of the most prestigious properties in the region,' said Fadi Rezk, Director of HR, InterContinental Hotels Group. 'The extra amenities and facilities available to employees' families will make their time with us extremely comfortable and every effort has been made to cater for the diversity we enjoy as a multi-cultural workforce that has come together from all over the world.'
While employees staying within 'Colleague Hotel' full-time can take advantage of a gym, a large dining area, two reception rooms and even an 'art room' with a piano and painting facilities, visiting family are invited to use two specially dedicated rooms being offered at cost price.
'The apartments are now fully furnished and the attention to detail and excellent finishing mean the property really does resemble a quality hotel,' added Rezk. 'The atmosphere is excellent and we're all really excited about 'Colleague Hotel' reaching full capacity and the forthcoming reopening of InterContinental Abu Dhabi.'
