DMES will help acquire a highly secured and powerful Enterprise Document Management System to support DM's internal and external business processes by creating a single document repository solution. It also facilitates the introduction and use of digital signature and digital certificate from Etisalat, while also ensuring the archiving, indexing and control of inbound and outbound email messages similar to other electronic documents.
"The IT Department of Dubai Municipality is committed to take strategic steps that will ensure greater operational efficiency. The adoption of these new systems will complement our 'paperless' initiative while also automating and accelerating business processes, boosting efficiency and resulting in cost savings,"
said Malik.
The Electronic Correspondence and Follow Up system targets the automation of electronic correspondence in all DM organisational entities and provides a unified system through which follow-up capabilities can be provided on tasks allocated. The system can be used by DM employees to sort incoming external and internal correspondence and develop auto-routine tasks to respond to these correspondences.
"The EC & FU system provides flexible functionalities to manage, review and store DM's outgoing and incoming internal and external correspondence. It supports dynamic work-flow creation based on the incoming correspondence for powerful tracking features," explained Yousif Shams.
