Acer pioneers unprecedented free service initiative in the UAE market

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, September 14 - 2002 at 09:28
  • PRESS RELEASE

In an effort to achieve advanced customer service levels, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. today launched a revolutionary new program giving Acer technology users free service for their PCs regardless of whether they are currently under warranty.

The unprecedented regional initiative is called the Acer Care Camp, and is being rolled-out across the Middle East in partnership with Acer's Authorized Service Provider community.

"The Acer Care Camp initiative comes as a realization to Acer's long-term commitment to its loyal users in the Middle East, and is the company's means of reciprocating benefits to the customers that have supported our technology in the region" said Suhas Bartar, Director Customer Services Division, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

" The overall IT sector is now recovering from a slowdown and Acer sees this as an ideal time to reach out to our regional end-user and partner community through this unique program," added Bartar.

The Acer Care Camp program already conducted in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait earlier this year has been a huge success with current and potential customers showing up to avail this free service opportunity.

The Acer Care Camp in UAE will be conducted in cooperation with Acer's Authorized Service Providers which include SMB Computers, CompuME, KIT, Emirates Computers, Cosmos Micro Computer Center, and Jumbo Electronics - and will last for three days, from the 16th of September through the 18th of September 2002.

Under this new program, Acer's end-users can take their PC units, regardless of warranty status, to Acer's nominated Authorized Service Provider for a host of service options. These offers include: diagnosing hardware problems, addressing software cases related to pre-loaded operating systems, consultation on virus prevention amongst a host of other free services. Acer will also provide spare parts at concessional prices during this program.

The new Acer Care Camp initiative will bring users in the UAE market significant benefits, such as expert consultations from Acer's professional staff, free professional services to remedy existing problems, and Acer original spare parts.

Acer's regional channel partners have welcomed the Acer Care Camp project, as the new initiative will also enable them to build closer customer relationships by providing technical support services.

"End-users in this market have come to rely on Acer's ease-of-use, high performance, and value for money products and services, as evidenced by the market share and tremendous popularity of the Acer brand in UAE," said Jacob Varghese, Country Sales Manager, Acer Computer Middle East.

"With the launch of the Acer Care Camp, both new and existing customers will now reap the benefits of Acer's hands-on commitment to providing superior service," concluded Varghese.
