Canon Middle East is celebrating its most successful Gitex yet with its impressive launch of 50 products at this year's premier IT event.

Canon boasted its most impressive range of imaging and information technology solutions for the home and business, at its state-of-the-art two storey stand.

The Canon stand drew Gitex crowds with a live fashion shoot and models wearing Walled Atallah designs, a dedicated area for professional photographers to test its latest state of the art lenses as well as product managers on hand throughout to answer questions about the new range of products.

In addition, visitors to the stand had the opportunity to win a range of Canon products such as digital video camcorders (DVC), inkjet Single Function Printers (SFP), Inkjet Multi Function Printers (MFP) and Laser Multi Function Printers by taking part in an interactive game. While on Day 4 of the exhibition Canon gave away a printer every hour on the hour to one lucky visitor.

"Gitex 2006 has been a huge success for Canon. It is a great opportunity for us to get closer to our customers and get further insight into their home and business needs and requirements so that we can meet them with our huge assortment of Canon technologies,"

said Mohamed Salama, Marketing Manager Canon Middle East.

"We have had a tremendous response from visitors who were interested in seeing Canon's latest line-up of digital cameras, as well the popular compact photo printers. Gitex enables us to reach and communicate to the widest possible audience and is a key event in the Canon diary," concluded Mohamed Salama, Marketing Manager Canon Middle East.

Among the products launched at Gitex 2006 were Canon's Compact Photo Printer Selphy ES1, which will set new standards for compact photo printing. Also launched at the event is the next generation D-SLR - EOS 400D which is predicted to take the lead as the world's most popular camera, along with the world's smallest HDV1080i (High Definition Video) camcorder in HV-10E.

In addition, Canon showcased its new flagship camera from the Digital Ixus range - the Digital Ixus 900Ti, finished in precision-crafted titanium. Also topping the bill at the Gitex was the introduction of the new intuitive user interface - the Easy Scroll Wheel in Pixma Photo All-in-One models along with the Pixma Mini Compact Photo Printer.

Among the highlights for Canon at this year's Gitex was breaking the world record for the longest single file print. Canon smashed the existing record by 16 metres by printing a single image file of 60 metres in length which was displayed along side the Canon stand.
