Westminster school celebrates the Cambridge Fellowship Centre Status

The University of Cambridge honoured the Westminster School, a GEMS School, with the 'Cambridge Fellowship Centre Status' a unique grant only 50 schools across the world have, and only two other schools in the region received this honour.

The unique recognition is accorded to the school for its outstanding commitment to working with the University of Cambridge International Examinations in the achievement of its educational mission.

The award was presented to the Westminster School's principal, David Morrison, by Christine Daw, Regional Manager - Middle East & North Africa, University of Cambridge International Examinations at a special ceremonial function held at the school's auditorium.

Commenting on the achievement, Principal Morrison said, 'It is indeed a very special day for Westminster faculty and staff and GEMS Education for their constant support and guidance to the school. Receiving this award further strengthens our position as quality education providers in the region and lays on us more responsibility to maintain this in the years to come.'

As a result of this award, the school has received many benefits from the University of Cambridge International Examinations and the special privilege to nominate the high achievers of AS / A-level courses for scholarship for three consecutive years in any University in the world.

The award ceremony was attended by Ms. Laila Murtadha Baqar, Head of Private Education at the Ministry of Education in Dubai, officials from the University of Cambridge International Examinations, officials from GEMS Education, parents, staff and students of the school.
