Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C.) appoints Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Ghazi M. Abdul-Jawad, President and Chief Executive of Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C.), has announced the appointment of Mr. Sael Al Waary as the Chief Operating Officer of the Bahrain-headquartered bank.

This change in title was endorsed by the Board of Directors of the bank at a recent meeting.

A Board member of Arab Financial Services since 2000, Mr. Al Waary holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He joined the ABC Group in 1981 and, from 1986, was the General Manager and Director of ABC (IT) Services Ltd., the wholly-owned subsidiary and technology arm of ABC International Bank plc, London. In 1997, Mr. Al Waary relocated to Head Office in Bahrain to head up ABC's Global Information Technology function as well as assume the role of Board member of ABC (IT) Services Ltd., U.K.

In 2005, Mr. Al Waary took over the role of Head of Group Support, responsible for all support functions, including Operations, Human Resources & Administration, Corporate Communications, Premises & Engineering, at Head Office, Bahrain. Mr. Al Waary has over 25 years of experience in Banking and Information Technology with Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C.).
