Dubai Press Club hosts International Public Relations Association - Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC)

Dubai Press Club (DPC) hosted the International Public Relations Association - Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC) on Thursday, 23 November at its premises in Dubai Media City, as part of its effort to establish greater synergy between regional communications organisations.
Founded in 2003, IPRA-GC is a regional chapter of the International Public Relations Association headquartered in the United Kingdom, with members from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Oman.
Hasan J. Hasan, President IPRA-GC said: "Our visit to the Dubai Press Club reflects our wish to develop the public relations skills of our members, broaden their experience in the international arena and establish stronger ties among PR specialists throughout the region."
Delivering a presentation on "The Value of the Dubai Press Club to the Gulf Region", Maryam bin Fahad briefed the delegation on the achievements and future plans of the Dubai Press Club. She also spoke about the crucial role of public relations and the media in the development of the region and its organisations.
Bin Fahad said: "Dubai Press Club is an integral part of the media industry in the Middle East, contributing to the emergence of Dubai as a global information and media hub. It is the region's largest media network with over 2,000 members from the region and beyond.
"The Dubai Press Club fosters interaction among journalists and media professionals from around the world and promotes exchange of ideas between the newsmakers and the news communicators."
She added that DPC has leveraged its authoritative understanding of regional communications to establish a strategic public relations agency - JiWin, official affiliates of Burson-Marsteller, a leading global PR consultancy group.
The IPRA-GC's vision is to be recognized throughout the Gulf region for advancing PR excellence. IPRA provides unsurpassed international networking opportunities to its members via IPRA's global conferences and regional meetings, an annual printed directory of members and IPRA's referral system.
