Souktel's new Matching Service will help local communities get emergency food and medical aid more efficiently-by pairing them directly with NGOs that meet their specific needs. SoukTel anticipates that the service will boost needy families' access to aid-and cut wait times for emergency assistance in half. 'Right now, Palestinian NGOs are overwhelmed and families spend hours lining up for help,' explained SoukTel CEO Jacob Korenblum. 'With our new service, NGOs and communities can work together to arrange for food and medicine deliveries-right from their mobile phones. This helps the NGOs do their work more effectively, and it helps families get the support they need. We're thrilled to be working with MobIS on this'.
MobIS General Manager, Mr. Hanna Kreitem, said that this agreement allows MobIS, along with SoukTel, to provide the Palestinian market with an innovative solution to growing humanitarian challenges, by utilizing available mobile technology to overcome obstacles put in place by the occupation, especially at crisis times.
SoukTel aims to pilot the new SMS service in early 2007, in cooperation with local NGO clients.
