Dubai Industrial City supports members of Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. For Young Business Leaders

Dubai Industrial City is to allocate one million square feet of land for members of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders (SME), for empowering national entrepreneurs to smoothly launch their business through land allocations at competitive rental charges.

The move follows an agreement between Akil Kazim, Operations Director, SME and Abdulla Bin Haidar, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Industrial City. The signing was attended by Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Sheikh Mohammed Est. for Young Business Leaders and Khalid Al Malik, Senior Vice President of Industry and Knowledge of Tatweer.

Plots for the use of SME members will be provided in all six zones of Dubai Industrial City, based on the availability of land, project suitability and requirement of SME members. Land will be allocated on a five-year lease basis.

Commenting on the agreement, Akil Kazim said: 'The MoU underlines our efforts to empower small and start up companies through collaboration with leading national organizations.

'The preferential rental rate offered by Dubai Industrial City to SME member companies will greatly help to minimize the overheads and operational costs of member start up companies.'

SME will provide Dubai Industrial City with information on member companies wishing to launch projects in the largest industrial park in the Middle East. Credentials offered by SME will include a membership certificate as well as information on the company's business profile and plan.

Abdulla Bin Haidar said: 'Empowering national entrepreneurs is one of our prime obligations to support the long-term economic well-being of the UAE. The agreement contributes to Dubai's strategy aimed at developing a new generation of national businessmen.'

Dubai Industrial City and SME will periodically review the viability and growth of the businesses during the contract period.
