DLC to drive Emirate's auto aftermarket growth
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 28 - 2006 at 14:58
- PRESS RELEASE
Current industry trends indicate many third party logistics providers are now targeting the automotive industry - by keeping pre-set levels of inventory in stock, providers can get it to the market quicker, improving turnaround time and heightening customer satisfaction.
DLC - at the core of Dubai World Central, the 140 square kilometre urban aviation community being built in Jebel Ali, just 40 kilometres from Dubai city centre - with customs bonded access to Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone, "is just the project to take on the mantle of maintaining such monumental market growth," commented Proffitt at this week's Middle East Auto Aftermarket Conference 2006.
"The continuous growth in automotive sales in Dubai, and across the GCC, can only further encourage aftermarket demand.
"With the emirate's flourishing import, export and re-exports market showing no signs of slowing, the question is to what level the growth will reach before a lack of space curtails it," said Proffitt.
"With Dubai Logistics City, we are answering that question."
"Our unique business proposition and strategic location provide innovative logistics solutions to these dilemmas, such as more efficient sea-air connectivity between Europe and Asia and the knock-on reductions in time-to-market capability for industry manufacturers, suppliers and purchasers," said Proffitt.
"This level of outsourcing allows auto aftermarket clients to concentrate on their core business in the knowledge they are supported by dedicated logistics providers acting as operations agents and offering third party customer service. The added bonuses of moving from an in-house service are the freeing-up of capital investment and personnel costs. DLC's facilities truly make good business sense for companies looking to solidify, or launch, their presence in the market."
DLC is a component of the vast Dubai World Central aviation community, which includes the world's biggest airport - Dubai World Central International (JXB). DLC, together with Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone and JXB, combines all transportation modes, logistics and value-added services, such as product manufacturing and assembly, in a single-bonded free zone environment.
