At the Middle East Broadcast Summit 2006, Mr. Sahoo presented his company's latest offerings in the field of IP Television and also, etisalat's vision for mobile television.

"IPTV is an important technology and brings great benefit for broadcasters and consumers alike. In the UAE, the introduction of IPTV increases our coverage, thus providing more consumers access to information and entertainment services," said Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision.

IPTV has been available in the UAE in restricted areas for several years and was officially launched countrywide at GULFCOMMS 2006 last week. The new service will enable consumers to rapidly subscribe to pay-TV services and to change their provider at will by removing the complexity involved in moving service providers.

Mobile Television - A Killer Application for Mobile

Mr. Sahoo also discussed plans to introduce Mobile Television to the UAE in 2007. During GULFCOMMS, the parent company "Etisalat" presented live demonstration of mobile television with several television broadcaster partners including ART, BBC World, Al Jazeerah and CNBC Arabiya. Furthermore, this new initiative includes a number of radio channels parallel to the television channels. Mobile Television using DVB-H technology is predicted to be a killer next generation service.

Humaid Rashid Sahoo concluded, "E-Vision continuously works on bringing added value services closer to its customers. We have a technologically advanced offering and each one of these services is geared towards the customer's needs, both today and in the visible future. This is the reason behind E-Visions past, current and continued success."
