Argentinian Minister of Production addresses media at Dubai Press Club

Dubai Press Club (DPC) hosted Debora Giorgi, Minister of Production for Buenos Aires, Argentina on Monday, 27 November at its premises in Dubai Media City.
The Minister is leading a business delegation of Argentinian companies from diverse industry sectors such as foodstuff, construction materials, cosmetics, industrial equipment, petroleum equipment and furniture.
Minister Giorgi said: "We are highly impressed with the explosive growth in Dubai and the massive scale on which its projects have expanded operations throughout the world."
Highlighting her meeting with H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Economy, she said both exchanged views on Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
Giorgi stressed the need to enhance economic and trade relations between Argentina and the UAE and suggested that investors in Argentina should capitalise on the economic boom in the UAE, especially for value added projects.
In her capacity as the Minister of Production, Giorgi is responsible for the promotion of industrial production, foreign trade, development of maritime cooperatives and river ports for the province of Buenos Aires.
The Argentinian officials also called on UAE investors to expand to Argentina and Latin America and benefit from the incentives offered.
The UAE and Argentina enjoy strong economic relations. According to statistics, the volume of trade in 2005 between the two countries totalled AED 1,089 million, with balance of trade standing at AED 1,071 million.
