The company, based in the north of China in Baotou, appointed Sharjah-based Chinamex as its distributor for the Middle East region last month.
'We have also received orders for 300 more units at the CCFS,' said Mr. Jhon Zhu, International Trade Department Manager, Chinamex, on the sidelines of the exhibition.
'So far, we have sold 8 dumpcarts, 4 concrete mixers, and 4 trailers at CCFS,' he added.
The dumpcarts are priced at USD $ 58,000, the concrete mixers at USD $ 72,000, and the trailers at USD $ 48,000.
Chinamex has already acquired land in Jebel Ali to build a warehouse for stocking spare parts for the heavy duty trucks.
'In the future, we have plans to manufacture the bodies for the trucks at the Jebel Ali facility,' Mr. Jhon Zhu said.
Chinamex recently entered in to an agreement with Oman based Al Fairuz Trading Company for sale of the heavy duty vehicles there.
'Currently, we are in talks for appointing dealers in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait,' Mr. Jhon Zhu Said.
The Baotou Bei Fang Ben Chi heavy duty trucks are 100% Chinese made, Mr. Jhon Zhu informed.
Besides the Baotou Bei Fang Ben Chi company, the other exhibitors too have received overwhelming response during the first two days of the event.
Till November 27th, 29,990 visitors, both trade and public, had visited CCFS.
This year's CCFS is featuring over 600 reputed enterprises from more than 29 provinces and municipalities of mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Products on display at the Fair include vehicles and parts, hardware and tools, machine tools and parts, household electrical apparatus, electronic products, foodstuff, medicines and health products, garments, household textile, yarn, daily commodities, utensil and kitchen articles, lights and decoration products, building material and building pottery, decoration materials, and household furniture.
The Fair will be on till November 29, 2006, daily from 10 am to 1 pm for trade only and from 5 pm to 9 pm for both trade and public. Children below 16 years will not be allowed.
The CCFS is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and the SCCI, and organised by Chinamex and Expo Centre Sharjah.
Chinese heavy vehicle manufacturer makes inroad into Middle East market
China-based heavy duty vehicle manufacturer Baotou Bei Fang Ben Chi has sold 16 units of trucks costing over USD 900,000 within the first two days of the Chinese Commodities Fair (CCFS) at Expo Centre Sharjah.
