Samsung opens 'Digital Gallery' at ASPIRE building for Doha 2006

Samsung, a Prestige Partner of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, officially opened the doors to its Digital Gallery by hosting a ceremony for related officials and guests.
"We are very supportive of the Asian Games because this event allows athletes and fans from Asia to unify and share a common experience," said Mr. Gyehyun Kwon, Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sport Marketing and Global Communications at Samsung Electronics. "With that spirit, we are also thrilled to share with others the products and technology that has made Samsung a global leader."
Among the many guests in attendance were: Mr. Abdulla Khalid Al Qahtani, Director General of DAGOC and Mr. Haider Fermon and Manager of the Asian Games from OCA (Olympic Council of Asia).
As a Prestige Partner, Samsung will provide over 8,000 items including LCD screens for viewers, mobile phones for workers, and home appliances for organizers and athletes, in order to ensure a well-run event for visitors and organizers of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.
Mr. Fermon of the OCA added, "The Digital Gallery will provide visitors with a first hand glimpse of the products being used at the Asian Games and by consumers all around the globe."
The Digital Gallery will remain open until the end of the Asian Games on December 15th, 2006 to anyone visiting the ASPIRE building. Visitors will also be eligible to win many gifts and prizes including SGH-X820, the world's slimmest phone.
Products to be featured at the Digital Gallery:
LCD TVs: Ranging from 32" to 82" monitors, guests can experience the crisp quality of pictures that rival real life. Among the featured items, 40" and 46" LCD TV models that support full HD resolution (1920x1080p) - doubling the previous best HD performance (1366x768, 1080i) - and provide high contrast (6000:1) will be introduced. Visitors will enjoy the new generation of LCD TVs that are sprouting up across households across the globe.
Plasma TVs: Samsung will also feature a select number of plasma TVs, each with its unique personality including the first large size HD-compatible wireless Plasma TV which maintains a sleek body and easily mounts on any type of wall. All TVs take advantage of Samsung's patented FilterBright Plus technology, which allows images to maintain their contrast and visibility even in the brightest light.
Mobile Phones: Guests at the Digital Gallery will discover the latest technology that has come to define the new breed of mobile phones. A diverse line-up of six Ultra Edition Phones that average slightly less than a half-inch thick - currently the leader in the global mobile handset market - will be on display. Samsung will also demonstrate sophisticated mobile broadcasts of the Games with the SGH-P910 mobile TV handset model.
Household Appliances: Samsung will also present all types of home appliances from microwaves, washing machines, and refrigerators including the world-first four-cooling refrigerator "Quarto." Samsung's high-quality products for everyday living will add another layer of practicality to the technologically advanced ensemble.
