"ADNOC has steadily broadened its activities through various subsidiaries over the last three decades and has a presence in almost all spheres of the energy sector,"
said Eileen Michael, Publisher, Reflex Publishing, which organises the awards through its monthly Pipeline trade magazine.
"It is one of the world's leading companies not only in size and oil reserves and safety initiatives. This is ADNOC's second win at the awards having won the Best Company for Health and Safety in 2005."
Other UAE wins include second time winner Petrofac, which took the Industry Services title and AlMansoori Specialised Engineering Services which bagged the award for Health and Safety.
Meanwhile, the newly-introduced Gas Company of the Year accolade was scooped by Qatar's RasGas.
"RasGas is building an enviable record of technological innovation along the entire LNG value chain with its multi-billion dollar, multi-train projects and is among the best companies to work for in Qatar," said Michael.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and in conjunction with Gas Tech - the international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries - the Excellence In Energy Awards 2006 were presented at a glittering ceremony on the lawns at Abu Dhabi's Armed Forces Officers Club.
Seen as the 'Oscars' of the Middle East energy industry, the awards followed record polling in a reader's choice scheme designed to recognise companies that made a significant difference to the region's dynamic oil and gas industry.
