The new Toyota Aurion V6 has arrived

The Media Launch of this powerful and elegant new sedan took place at the prestigious new Toyota Showroom at Dubai Festival City.

Joining key representatives of the UAE's Media at the launch was Mr. Yasuyuki Kawamoto, the Chief Engineer from the Toyota Development Centre in Japan who led the team responsible for the development of the Aurion V6.

Speaking at the launch, Tony Barlow, the General Manager of Sales & Marketing at Al-Futtaim Motors said, 'Derived from a fusion of ancient Latin and Greek, Aurion means 'First Light' and we are confident that this new sedan will mark a new dawn and break-through in value for money, performance luxury motoring. The needs of mid-size Sedan class customers have significantly evolved during the past few years. This is particularly evident among customers in their thirties, who express a desire for a sedan which will meet their functional needs, but also provide a luxurious and prestigious environment, coupled with responsive power and exhilarating driving performance.

Driving pleasure and performance are delivered by a new-generation 3.5 litre V6 engine. The engine incorporates the Dual VVT-I system to optimize performance and fuel economy, and reduce emissions, and delivers 268HP/6200 rpm and torque of 34.3kg-m/4700 rpm. To smoothly deliver this impressive power and torque, the engine is coupled with a new 6-speed sequential automatic transmission, which incorporates the latest technologies, including low-speed lock-up control and deceleration shift-down control. The quietness that Toyota vehicles are well known for has been achieved through reduced engine and wind noise, and the extensive use of sound insulation throughout.

The design concept of 'Dynamic yet Majestic' has been adopted for the Aurion V6's interior and exterior styling, which convey a contemporary, premium and quality image. Reinforcing its premium feel, the Aurion V6 is equipped with Smart Entry and Push-Button Engine Start systems, Dual Automatic Air-conditioning, a Rear Powered Sunshade, HID Headlamps, door mirrors with integral turn indicators, and Satellite Navigation.

The interior fuses boldness with delicate details, and a spacious and luxurious image has been created through the use of new, matte surface texturing that suppresses glossiness, to reproduce the texture of leather in the instrument panel and door trims. The advantages of a front-wheel drive design have been exploited in the rear, where the floor tunnel is almost flat, providing enhanced space and comfort for passengers. The stylish exterior conceals a large trunk with a very impressive luggage capacity that can accommodate four full golf bags.

Although it is a powerful sedan, the new Aurion V6 continues the Toyota promise of an exceptionally safe and reassuring driving experience for driver and passengers. It features Anti-lock Brakes with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, plus Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control. These are complemented by an athletic Global Outstanding Assessment body structure that absorbs collision impacts for vehicle occupants and pedestrians, together with Driver and Passenger Airbags, Side, and Curtain Shield Airbags.

The highly-equipped new Aurion V6 is available in four equipment levels.
