- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, December 05 - 2006 at 15:18
- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Shopping Festival Office invites the private sector which has been a pillar of strength of the decade-old festival to vie for the DSF Innovation Award.
The Award is divided into six categories namely Best Shopping Mall Promotion, Best Shopping Mall Décor and Best Shopping Mall Event for the shopping malls and Best Retail Promotion, Most Attractive POS (point of sale) display and Outstanding Retail Service for the retailers. Participants can apply for more than one award and the last date for submitting entries is December 19 before 4pm.
The award has been instituted as a way of acknowledging the tremendous contribution of the private sector in bringing the DSF to its current stature. A brainchild of the perfect synergy between the Government departments and the private sectors the iconic shopping fiesta has come a long way from its start in 1996.
Today, it offers a complete package of shopping, entertainment and winning. And these awards go to show that the winning is not limited to the visitors and shoppers but also to those behind the event.
Much sought-after by the business community the prestigious DSF Innovation Award is open to participation for those with a competitive zeal, who strive to offer the best possible retail services and to stand up and be recognised.
Saeed Al Naboodah, CEO, DSF, said: "since its launch in 1996 along with the first edition of DSF, the Innovation Award was instituted to celebrate the integrated collaboration between the DSF and the private sector. The award aims at acknowledging the efforts and achievements of our partners all through the days of the festival".
All private sector participants are eligible to apply for the award. The application forms can be had from the DSF Office at the Department of Economic Development Building and the completed application forms should come along with a one-page write-up on the 'idea', the 'execution of the idea' and the 'results expected'. The 'Idea' should be original and innovative; the 'Execution' judged in terms of quality, visual impact and thematic consistency, and in terms of bottom-line oriented/increase in sales/customer satisfaction.
The combined editions of DSF 2006-2007 will run from December 20, 2006 to February 2, 2007. The 45 days of family fun, entertainment and shopping frenzy will offer retrospective glimpses of the 10 previous editions combining the best of the best and promises to be even bigger and better.
