Xerox Emirates reinforces long term commitment to Al Noor Centre for Children with Special Needs
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, December 06 - 2006 at 12:46
- PRESS RELEASE
In keeping with its long standing commitment to charitable causes, Xerox Emirates today announced sponsorship of the Al Noor Fun Fair Day to be held on December 15, 2006.
The Al Noor Fun Fair Day has been hosted for the past 19 years with the view of providing children with a day of fun-filled activities like painting competitions, fancy dress, quiz, horse rides, and magic show, amongst others.
As part of the support extended, Xerox Emirates will sponsor the painting competition to be held on the day. The paintings will be evaluated by a panel of nominated judges on the basis of pre-determined criteria and the prize winning paintings will then go on to be featured on Al Noor Greeting cards. Xerox Emirates will sponsor the Prize ceremony to be held in January and will also sponsor select cash prizes that will be distributed at the gala event.
During the competition, Xerox Emirates will also provide a Xerox WorkCentre 7132 which will be used to provide each participant in the contest with a color copy of their painting.
Adding a new dimension to the event, Xerox Emirates will place all the paintings on their website which will then be open to a voting process for the general public. The best painting selected through this process will receive a prize from Xerox Emirates.
Xerox Emirates has been associated with Al Noor Centre since 1999 and has supported the initiatives of the organization through sponsorships and the donation of office equipment.
"Social responsibility has been ingrained in the Xerox culture since our earliest days as a company, in part because our founder Joe Wilson and the inventor of xerography Chester Carlson were such advocates of corporate citizenship. Our goal is to be admired as much for the tangible business successes we achieve as for the intangible goodwill and community trust we continually foster," said Anne M. Mulcahy, Xerox Chairman and CEO.
Al Noor is passionately committed to helping special needs children from their infancy to adulthood, its goal being to integrate its students into society. Al Noor Training Centre opened its doors in 1981 and has been developing its training programme to ensure that the Special Children it caters to, receive quality and enriching experiences towards a more independent and functional life.
