AlMansoori wins major health and safety award

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and organised by Reflex Publishing, publisher of Pipeline Magazine, in conjunction with Gas Tech - the international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries - the Excellence In Energy Awards 2006 were presented at a glittering ceremony on the lawns at Abu Dhabi's Armed Forces Officers Club.

Seen as the 'Oscars' of the Middle East energy industry, the awards followed record polling in a Pipeline reader's choice scheme designed to recognise companies that made a significant difference to the region's dynamic oil and gas industry.

The award is seen as a major triumph by MSE, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2007 and is proud to be one of the few companies from the Middle East to have an integrated HSEQ management system.

Last year, the implementation of MSE's management system improved the company's overall performance by achieving 4,197,316 hours with zero lost time accidents, five million hours with zero lost time injuries in marine operations and 0.17 leave and absent days compared with 0.69 for the previous year.

The latest success follows on from the receipt of a number of awards for MSE from its clients including the ZADCO HSE Performance award, ADCO HSE award, a RasGas award for completing nine years without a lost time incident, ADMA-OPCO for completing 5 million hours without a lost time accident, the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award 2005 and ADNOC special recognition award.

MSE managing director Nabil Alalawi, said, "We are delighted to have received this prestigious award. Health and safety is core to our business and it is a great honour to receive such recognition from our peers in the oil and gas industry.
