  • PRESS RELEASE

A joint endeavor between two experienced companies, Farabi Technology and Mughamrat, has broadened the access of legacy applications to Windows Pocket PC wireless devices with full Arabic support.

"We have succeeded in emerging IBM Mainframe or AS/400 real time Arabic data into the client Pocket PC devices by using Mughamrat SDK WinCE Arabic Layer (WAL) along with the Farabi's HostFront Web-to-host COM objects" stated Abdul Aleem Khan, Professional Services Manager, Farabi Technology Middle East.

"Thanks to the combination of our 2 solutions, we have showed that legacy systems are re-usable on new systems such as PocketPC, even if the data is in Arabic" Yahia Alaoui, CEO, Mughamrat.

Farabi's HostFront Legacy Adapter is the most powerful Host Integration Adapter, designed for Windows 2000 and .NET that extends the business processes and applications to any IBM 3270 or 5250 host based application. Powered by Application Integration Component (AIC) based on COM; it provides a method for creating a programmatic integration point to any 3270 or 5250 terminal-based application. HostFront COM object allows complete integration of the HostFront Server into a Microsoft environment. Applications developed using Visual Basic, Visual C/C++, VBScript, JScript, PowerBuilder and Delphi, will be able to request enterprise information via a call to the HostFront COM object.

Mughamrat WinCE Arabic layer (WAL) helps developers build and integrate fast and operational mobile arabized native applications as well as arabized Web applications. WAL Server Module supports Active Server Pages (.asp) and allows Arabic display, and input in CE Internet Explorer via a COM Object for WinCE.

The WAL Software Development Kit (SDK) allows professionals to enable the Arabic in CE Internet Explorer and offer arabization of complex controls, printing, Arabic ASP, database connectivity, EVB, and EVC++ support and compatibility with the different WinCE platforms.
