- PRESS RELEASE
Shamil Bank, a leading regional Islamic bank based in Bahrain hosted a Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony at the Gulf Hotel last night.
Shamil Bank's Chief Executive, Mr. Mohamed Hussain congratulated the winners of the WIBC Islamic financial industry awards and also praised the success of the event over the years.
He said: "The Conference provides a unique and high profile platform for the advancement of the global Islamic banking industry. The exchange of ideas at the WIBC does not only contribute to the growth of our knowledge, but will inspire excellence in our work. WIBC is one of the few international Islamic finance forums where we can present our learning and experience to others and at the same time learn from their experiences. Moreover, nothing can replace the benefits of face-to-face meetings with key decision makers in an informal environment provided by these conferences. It greatly helps in establishing personal relationships and lay the foundation for future collaboration."
Mr. Hussain further added: "Shamil Bank has always supported this important event as a sponsor, and this time for the sixth year in a row. It is highly encouraging to see that WIBC is getting bigger and better every year. I am confident that it is on its way to becoming the largest congregation of Islamic Banking gurus in the world."
Yesterday's Conference session included a high profile Retail Banking Summit where Tariq Bahar, Head, Retail Banking represented Shamil Bank and contributed his valuable comments to the discussion.
