The official opening of the six-day international exhibition of women's products and services was attended by ministry officials, dignitaries from the diplomatic community, top executives of participating companies, and other distinguished guests.
'All women should take advantage of this exciting opportunity to visit an exhibition that showcases everything designed especially for them,' said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading event management company in the sultanate.
The exhibition timings are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Entry is restricted to ladies and families only, and all women visitors have a chance to win valuable prizes in the raffle draw. The prizes at stake, courtesy of Air Arabia and Salman Stores, include air tickets for a family of four to Sharjah, dinner sets, a sewing machine, and non-stick cookware.
Women Expo 2006 features over 65 local and international companies offering a wide range of products and services for women of all ages. Among the products on display are perfumes and cosmetics, jewellery, home appliances, garments, shoes and bags, new car models and wedding dresses. The exhibition, which is supported by Bank Muscat as the major sponsor and Muscat Private Hospital as the co-sponsor, also showcases financial services and health services for women.
Educational and career opportunities are likewise highlighted in the exhibition with the participation of Oman Tourism College, Modern College of Business & Science, and Muscat College. Child care products are also prominently displayed at the stalls of Al Amal Industries, Muscat Pharmacy, Ramniklal B. Kothary & Co. LLC, Napco Consumer Product Co., and Ibn Sina Pharmacy. In addition, a wide selection of food products is on offer from A'Saffa Poultry Farms SAOG, Premium Food Industries, Zainal Baqer Mohebi LLC, and National Tea Co.
Other local companies participating in Women Expo 2006 include Adam's Sons Jewellery, Al Khayalee, Al Madina Financial and Investment Services Co., Al Majid Flower Trading Co. LLC, Ceragem, Eastern Pearls Co., Elixir Health Centre, Grace Cosmetics, Hatat Polyclinic, Kalhat Services and Trading LLC, Kaya Skin Clinic, Khimji Ramdas LLC, Muscat Slimming Centre, Mustafa Sultan Electronics Co. LLC, National Marketing & Trading Co. LLC, Oman Marketing & Services Co., Oman Trading Establishment, Qantab Dunes Co. LLC, Sri Sri Ayurveda Clinic, Suhail Bahwan Automobiles LLC, and Towell Unilever LLC.
To complement the exhibition, various education and entertaining activities are also scheduled on all days of the event for the benefit of all visitors. Among these are cooking demonstrations, musical performances, gift wrapping demonstrations, beauty product testing, cake decoration, candle arrangement, vegetable carving, napkin folding demonstrations, and a wedding pageant.
Women Expo 2006 is officially supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA), the Omani Society of Fine Arts (OSFA), the Oman Women Association at Seeb, the Omani Women Association -Muscat, and the Omani Women Sports Development Committee.
The event is also supported by Al Mar'a as the official magazine and Usrat Al Youm Magazine and Kul Al Usra Magazine as media partners. Sadaf serves as the official decorator of Women Expo 2006, and Al Sawadi Beach Resort is the cooking demo sponsor.
Women Expo 2006 welcomes all ladies and families
Her Excellency Sheikha Aisha Bint Khalfan Bin Jamil Al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI), yesterday presided over the inauguration of Women Expo 2006, which is currently ongoing until December 15 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb.
