Dr. Sena Maherzi, Assistant Professor in the English Language & Translation Department at Effat College will present this lecture on Tuesday, December 12th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. in the Effat College Faculty Residence Lounge.

Dr. Sena Maherzi holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Second Language Education from the University of Montréal, Canada. She also has an M.A. in Translation from French to English and a B.A. in English from the University of Tunis, Tunisia. Dr. Maherzi's Ph.D. thesis focused on Tunisian students' reasons for studying English and the role that English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers play in motivating students to learn the language. Her main area of interest is studying the relationship between motivation and second or foreign language learning based on Deci & Ryan's (1985) Social Cognitive Theory. The goal of Dr. Maherzi's lecture is to replicate her research thesis on students' perception and their motivation levels to Effat College students.

Female educators from schools and higher education institutions in Jeddah are invited to attend Dr. Maherzi's lecture.
