Dubai 2003 signs partnership agreement with Audi at Paris Motor Show

Dubai 2003 has signed an official partnership agreement with Audi for the German luxury car manufacturer to supply limousines to chauffeur Government Leaders and senior officials during The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund that will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates in Dubai in September 2003.
Audi will provide a total of 250 luxury A8 saloon cars that will be delivered from Germany to Dubai for the duration of the Annual Meetings. The German car manufacturer was also the partner for the chauffeur service when the Annual Meetings were last held outside of Washington, in Prague two years ago.
Dubai 2003 General Coordinator Mr. Ibrahim Belselah, speaking at the Paris Motor Show, said: "On behalf of the organising committee and host city for Dubai 2003 I am very proud to have signed this agreement with Audi to be our partner and exclusive supplier of luxury limousines to chauffeur Government leaders, Ministers and senior officials of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund to and from venues in Dubai.
"Audi is a world class partner for us here at Dubai 2003 where we are tremendously proud to be the host for this most prestigious international financial gathering"
The official signing ceremony took place in front of an audience of international media invited to the official Audi stand at the Paris Motor Show - one of the world's leading international events for the car industry.
Mr Ali Bilaloglu, Managing Director of Audi's Representative Office in Dubai, said: "Audi is very proud to be a partner for Dubai 2003 and have our luxury A8 used as the limousine to chauffeur world leaders, Government Ministers and international financial leaders in luxury when they attend the Annual Meetings.
"We are transporting 250 cars from Germany to Dubai in advance of the event that will fully meet the requirements of the VIP passengers during this event that will create massive international interest and focus on Dubai and the United Arab Emirates."
Mr Ibrahim Belselah took time out from leading the Dubai 2003 delegation to Washington DC and attending the 2002 Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund to attend the signing ceremony in Paris.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund began in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. Dubai and the UAE was selected because of its highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure and growing importance as a financial hub and its established position as the Crossroads for the New Global Economy.
