The Society encourages high standards of design-led journalism.

The new website www.snd20.org is a good opportunity to break the barriers across the geographical divide.

"It will permit to show what we are doing. What we think about design. Most concepts and design come from Western countries, but they have little information about the work newpaper designers are doing in other parts of the world, especially in the Middle East and in particular the UAE. It is our duty to enlighten them about this region and introduce them to our way of thinking," says Douglas Okasaki, SND Regional Director of Region 20 (Middle East and Africa).

In the website you will find sample of pages design, information, tips, interviews with designers, pools and a special blog with lot of information. "I want to do something different to draw journalists and designers to also participate and collaborate with us. Design is a result of what a society thinks and does. If the society had not to change then we still would have been writing news on stones and clay tablets," says Okasaki.

Website, blog and internet is the easy and best way to access people and the feed back is fast and efficient. SND 20 is the official name of the blog, 20 because it represents region number 20 in Society of New Design (SND). All designers, journalists, editors are welcome to contribute ideas, text, information, samples of pages, new projects, etc.
