Minister Anwar Gargash to brief media on FNC Election guidelines

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs and Head of the National Election Committee will outline the FNC electoral process and provide media guidelines at the Dubai Press Club on Tuesday, 12 December.

The media briefing will serve as a run up to the first-ever parliamentary elections in the UAE, set to take place on 16, 18 and 20 December.

Starting 16 December, half of the 40 member FNC house will be elected by the members of an Electoral College. The remaining members will be appointed by the Rulers of the seven emirates, post elections.

The elections will start on 16 December in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The electorate in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah will cast their votes on 18 December, while polling will be held in Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Qaiwain on 20 December.
