Cactimedia named the Web Company of the Year

The web design solutions provider scooped the lion's share of the accolades winning 14 awards including six golds, five silvers and two bronzes, in addition to the top honour.

Cactimedia won gold, silver and bronze in the Food & Beverage category, gold and silver in the Real Estate and Sports segments, gold in the ICT, Health Services and Media & Press categories, silver in the Fashion & Art and Services segments and bronze in the Cultural category.

The awards recognise Cactimedia's exceptional web design solutions for leading companies like Dubai Internet City, Ginseng, U Concept, Project Dubai, Phoenix Film Dubai, RAK Club, IFA Properties, RAK International Half Marathon, Century Village, Hywell Waters, Publinet, Wafi City Restaurants and Peopleperk.

Mazen Ilyas, CEO of Cactimedia received the awards on behalf of the company at a gala dinner attended by UAE business leaders, web designers and developers.

Acknowledging the awards, Ilyas said:

The 'UAE Web Awards' is dedicated to honouring talented web developers and designers in the UAE and safeguarding the integrity of their Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The competition is open to all organizations and freelance web designers, web developers and web site owners in the UAE.

The recipients of this year's UAE Web Awards will go forward to compete with winners from other Arab countries in the Pan Arab Web Awards to be held next year.

The second edition of the annual awards was staged in association with Microsoft, Business Software Alliance, and the Lebanese Canadian Bank.

"Cactimedia has worked with some of the leading companies in the UAE to set new standards in web design. We bring some of the finest talent from around the globe to provide a service that is comparable to the world's best. We look forward to continue working with the industry to raise the bar for web design not just in the UAE but across the region," Ilyas added.

The company recently announced that it will expand its operations to Brazil by Jan 2007. The Dubai-based agency already has two international offices in Belgrade, Serbia and Hyderabad, India.

The Belgrade office has a team of web programmers while the Hyderabad office focuses on developing solutions for advanced search-engine optimization. A team of high-end designers based in its new Brazil office will support Cactimedia's projects for clients in the Middle East.
