Eddie Filus will manage the regional setup bringing with him nearly 30 years experience in the shipping industry of which 10 years have been based in the Middle East region.
Eddie Filus, Director Business Development for Middle East and South Asia commented that
"This move reflects both the growing importance of the Middle East and South Asia for dry bulk cargo and Dubai's development as a regional centre for shipping and logistics".
Pacific Basin's vessels have been regularly serving the region; exporting fertiliser and iron ore, importing clinker, grain , coal and forestry products as well as participating in the booming inter-regional movement of aggregates and rock through it's joint venture company, Fujairah Bulk Shipping Limited (FBSL). The company believes that the region's economic growth, together with the industrial and commercial projects announced across the region, will mean an increased demand for quality dry bulk shipping and logistics solutions. The establishment of the Middle East FZE will better enable Pacific Basin to identify customer requirements, expand on current business activities, focus on developing long term client relationships and develop brand awareness.
