Effat College prepares for Fifth Annual Learning and Technology Symposium

Effat College intensifies its preparations for the Fifth Annual Learning and Technology Symposium, which will take place on January 13 in Jeddah Hilton Hotel and on January 14, 2007 at Effat College.
The sponsors for this event include several leading institutions like BMW, Al-Hadaf Advertising, Aal Taher Group, IT-Arabia, and ICC Solutions. Registration forms and other relevant information are available on the college website www.effatcollege.edu.sa. The registration fees for this event are SR500 per person.
The first day of the Symposium features several prominent international speakers who will share their expertise and knowledge with the participants. Dr. David Ross, Chair of Flexible Delivery and Professor in The University of Southern Queensland in Australia, Dr. Sharifah Syed Akil, an education expert in Custommedia in Malaysia, and Dr. Kathryn Bindon, Professor and President of Royal University for Women in Bahrain will present lectures in the Symposium.
Other speakers include Professor Manfred Spitzer, Head of Psychiatry Department in the University of Ulm in Germany, Mrs. Shameema Parveen, Knowledge Officer in Edutch Middle East, and Mr. Edward McPherson, Director of VT Stars Youth Development Program in Virginia, U.S.A. In the Opening Night Ceremony, HRH Princess Lolowah Al Faisal, General Supervisor, & Vice Chairman of Effat College's Board of Trustees will present a speech.
The second day of the conference will focus on workshops that will provide participants with hands-on knowledge of various technological tools that can be applied to the classroom or other work situations. These workshops are designed to suit participants' various needs and technical abilities.
Mr. Edward McPherson, Director of VT Stars Youth Development Program in Virginia, U.S.A., Mr.Emet Laboone, Assistant Director for Instructional Design, Development and Support in the Institute for Distance and Distributed Learning, Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, VA, U.S.A., Dr.Khadiga Itani and Ms. Moodi Al Saib from Effat College, and Mr. Mohammed Dia from Dar Al Fikr Schools in Jeddah will present sessions on this day.
