Women Expo 2006 features new food products

With women deriving great satisfaction from being able to provide the best and tastiest food to their family, Women Expo 2006 showcases a wide selection of new food products that are now available in groceries, cold stores, and hypermarkets in the Sultanate of Oman.

A'Saffa Poultry Farms SAOG heads the list of leading food companies that have taken up stalls in the exclusive exhibition for women, which will run only until Friday. The company is introducing to visitors its recently launched A'Saffa delicacies such as chicken burgers, chicken nuggets, chicken samosas, chicken fingers and chicken spring rolls. A'Saffa, which started commercial operations in June 2004, is also known for its range of frozen poultry products including whole chicken, breasts, wings and drumsticks.

Premium Food Industries is also participating at Women Expo 2006 to promote its meat products under the Chef's Choice brand. The company, which is based in the Sohar Industrial Estate, recently introduced a whole range of food products made from top-quality beef, chicken and lamb. Among these are Chef's Choice sausages, smoked lamb, chicken bockwurst, and smoked beef. All these products are featured in the cooking demonstrations being conducted daily at the exhibition by chefs from Al Sawadi Beach Resort.

Other food companies whose products are on display in the exhibition include Al Majd Flower Trading Co. LLC, National Tea Co. LLC, Qantab Dunes Co. LLC, and Towell Unilever LLC. Several food companies from Brunei Darussalam are likewise presenting their high quality products, which range from canned goods and halal meat products to biscuits, chilly sauces and pineapple tarts.

'Women Expo gives food companies the opportunity to directly interact with their target customers, while homemakers visit the show to know more about the latest food products that are now sold in the market,'



said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition organising company in the sultanate.

Paul stressed that in addition to food products, Women Expo also showcases various types of home appliances, beauty products, jewellery, child care products, financial services, shoes and garments as well as educational opportunities and health services for women. Lots of exciting activities including beauty product demonstrations, gift wrapping demonstrations, and flower arrangement demonstrations are held daily as part of the exhibition.

Women Expo 2006 is open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Friday, which is the last day of the event, the exhibition will be open only during the evening session. Entry is restricted to ladies and families only. Valuable prizes including air tickets, dinner sets, a sewing machine, and non-stick cookware are at stake in the raffle draw for all women visitors.

Women Expo 2006 is sponsored mainly by Bank Muscat and co-sponsored by the Muscat Private Hospital. Sadaf is the official decorator of the event, while Al Mar'a is the official magazine. The media partners are Usrat Al Youm Magazine, Kul Al Usra Magazine, Oman Daily Observer, Arabic Daily Oman, Oman Tribune and Al Watan.

The event is also officially endorsed by National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Omani Society of Fine Arts (OSFA), the Oman Women Association at Seeb, the Omani Women's Association -Muscat, and the Omani Women Sports Development Committee.
