USRobotics holds EMEA Partner Conference & 30 year celebration

By co-incidence the last time such an EMEA celebration event was hosted by USRobotics it was also held in Lisbon, Portugal and a number of partners and staff could remember their participation 10 years ago!

Now an independent company, owned by Platinum Equity since 2005, USRobotics has fast grown its portfolio of ADSL, Wireless and Skype certified VoIP products and also entered new markets in EMEA. Peter Blampied, recently promoted to Vice President of International Sales & Marketing, told delegates that 'the new non-analog product categories and our focus on emerging market regions has delivered significant sales growth since 2002'. 'The fast growth of the internet and the rapid emergence of broadband ADSL connections worldwide has fuelled new opportunities for wireless networks and new applications such as Skype Internet Telephony which represent tremendous opportunities for partners to grow in the future with USRobotics' explained Blampied in a well received multi-cultural presentation of USRobotics presence in the EMEA market.

Molly Baars, VP of Global Operations was present to give delegates an insight into how a USRobotics product is designed to deliver performance, reliability and ease-of-use. Also delegates were given a preview of new products launching in the beginning of 2007.

Delegates were reminded of the longevity of the USRobotics brand. Jerry Devlin, Vice President and veteran of USRobotics entertained delegates with a look back at the 30 years since the first USRobotics voice-coupler products were launched in 1976.

More than 60 partners attended, representing 10 international geographic regions and more than 40 countries. With such a mix of nationalities present, to encourage team working and cross cultural communication, USRobotics organized a fun afternoon with each guest allocated to a small team with the objective of building a soapbox and racing it around a grass track. The winning team was from the central region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

A 30 Year Birthday Party complete with a Birthday Cake ended a memorable week-end of real partnership and communication.

Feedback from partners following the event has been very positive, with all guests confirming they hope to attend the 40th anniversary event in 10 years time!
