Oxford Business Group (OBG), publisher of the world's most authoritative emerging markets business intelligence guides, has appointed seasoned journalist and former editor of Lebanon's Daily Star Peter Grimsditch, as its new Editorial Director.

Grimsditch, a professional journalist and author of business books for over 20 years, has extensive international and Middle East experience including roles as editor of several major daily newspapers and editorial consultant of leading multinationals across the region.

In his remit Grimsditch will head up OBG's extensive editorial team providing overall direction for the group's leading business publications covering the economies of Eastern Europe, North and South Africa, the Middle East and Asia

"Peter's vast experience, particularly in the realms of politics and business, will ensure OBG's emerging markets guides remain the benchmark for top-level investor and corporate analysis," said Michael Benson-Colpi, Chairman of Oxford Business Group. "His extensive international understanding, particularly of the Middle East, will add an even greater edge of authority to the emerging markets guides which already have outstanding market credibility."

Grimsditch is a classics honours graduate of the prestigious Oriel College, Oxford and during his journalistic career was launch editor of Britain's Daily Star, taking the tabloid to sales of a million copies a day within a year, before moving to the USA to assist the development of The New York Post and then on to Lebanon and another Daily Star.

"Peter is recognised for his grit and determination demonstrated most notably when he continued editing the Daily Star during 1984 when most of its staff had been evacuated from the then war-torn Lebanese capital. His reputation goes before him and will further enhance OBG's hallmark delivery of incisive and informed analysis," added Benson-Colpi.

OBG is synonymous with researching and publishing clear, perceptive country reports which leading decision makers and influencers rely on across the globe.
