The prestigious Liane Boucle watch, donated by Van Cleef & Arpels for auction at the event, was sold at a staggering 190,000 Dirhams on the night which will be fully donated to KHCF. The gala fundraiser was held under the patronage and in the presence of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, Ruler of Dubai. The event raised a total of AED 12,000,000 to support the life-saving work of the King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan.

"The importance of this Gala fundraiser and the support we received cannot be over-estimated. It is a strong demonstration of regional support for a vital, regional center that helps save hundreds of patients' lives all over the Middle East", stated HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of KHCF.

The Foundation is the legal umbrella organization responsible for the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC); the Foundation's medical arm. The Center works to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care to the people of Jordan and the region. The primary focus of the Foundation is to support and maintain the life-saving work of the Center, and to promote awareness and education programs aimed at early detection and prevention of cancer. The Foundation also dedicates its efforts to support patients financially and psychologically throughout their lengthy and difficult cancer treatment.

The stunning Liane Boucle watch, donated by Van Cleef & Arpels to raise funds for KHCF, was valued at 98,100 Dirhams but sold on the night for nearly twice the amount. The exquisite timepiece inspired a round of enthusiastic bidding by glamorous guests attending the charity event. The much admired Liane Boucle watch, designed with extremely supple lines, echoes the fluidity and comfort of the snake chain that was first launched in the Van Cleef & Arpels Cadenas Collection, inspired by the Duchess of Windsor, in 1936. The snake chain is a symbol of sensuality and tenderness and has become a signature feature in many VCA creations over the years. The Liane Boucle watch is in Yellow Gold with a 302 diamonds paved case and dial for a total weight of 2.50 carats.

Stephane de Palmas, Director of Van Cleef & Arpels in the Middle East said "We were absolutely delighted by the amount raised at the auction event which will be fully donated to KHCF. Van Cleef & Arpels has long held ties to the Middle East region, and we hope to strengthen our involvement in such worthwhile initiatives in the future."

After the successful opening of the Dubai boutique in 2004, Van Cleef & Arpels has recently opened a store in Abu Dhabi at the Marina Mall as well as in Istanbul at the Swissotel. The new store openings mark the start of the expansion that Van Cleef & Arpels has planned for the gulf region.
