Abi Aad previously held the same position at Accor, Lebanon, for over a year. The Crowne Plaza Beirut is the 6th hotel in Lebanon to be managed by Six Continents Hotels.
For the past ten years, Abi Aad's professional experience has combined sales and tourism within the region. After earning a degree in Computer Science & Business Management from Saint Joseph University, he left Lebanon for the Gulf, where he spent 5 years -- first as tour manager with Travel and Transport Services in Saudi Arabia, then as sales manager with Gulliver's Travel Agency in Dubai.
Abi Aad expects his experience in the Gulf to serve him well now that regional travel trends increasingly point to Lebanon as a destination for Arab travelers. "Having designed products for this particular market, I am familiar with its needs," he said, which include a "one-on-one, personal approach to business." With the Crowne Plaza Beirut's attached shopping mall and location in Hamra, the traditional "home base" for Gulf visitors, the hotel's concept falls nicely in line.
