- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, December 16 - 2006 at 11:02
- PRESS RELEASE
As key sponsor of the DSF, Emirates is offering attractive packages for the customers who can fly in to Dubai from any part of the world and enjoy all the city of Dubai has to offer at very competitive rates.
These carefully designed packages offer a range of prices, properties and benefits to satisfy the needs of our customers, especially families.
These exceptional value-for-money packages offer a choice of 18 select properties to suit all budgets.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: "Our DSF packages are an excellent means for people who have never seen Dubai before to come and enjoy the city and all it offers at extremely reasonable prices. This is the perfect time for families to take a vacation and revel in the festive atmosphere in Dubai, do some great shopping and possibly even win some of the fabulous prizes on offer during the period.
"Emirates has been a key sponsor of DSF since its inception 11 years ago and we are proud to be associated with the biggest shopping extravaganza in the world. Through this, we endeavour to showcase Dubai to the world and attract even more tourists to the emirate."
The majority of Emirates customers for DSF are from the Gulf and Middle East region, but increasingly the airline has been flying in many more people from the subcontinent, Africa and Europe as well.
Mentioning the role of Emirates Airlines in supporting the DSF, he added that Emirates gives out a substantial number of tickets to the Organising Committee every year, and they use the tickets for their travel to promote the shopping festival and to bring entertainment bands, guests, and journalists to Dubai during DSF.
The airline actively promotes the festival across its network and has produced a dedicated brochure for the DSF packages in both English and Arabic which has been distributed through Emirates' offices and Travel Agents world-wide. An attractive campaign comprising posters, billboard advertisements, bridge/walkway banners and radio broadcasts has also been planned. This campaign will run in the Gulf and Middle East region, the Far East and the subcontinent.
In addition to this, there are news releases sent out to the media across the globe. Emirates also supports and actively participates in the regional roadshows held by the DSF organisers to promote the event.
The airline has been receiving a tremendous response to its packages which have been a great success year on year. The sales have been increasing every year to the tune of 40 per cent.
The combined edition of DSF 2006-2007 will run from December 20, 2006 to February 2, 2007. The 45 days of family fun, entertainment and shopping frenzy will offer retrospective glimpses of the 10 previous editions combining the best of the best and promises to be even bigger and better.
