- PRESS RELEASE
Aligned with its strong sense of social responsibility, Jordan Investment Trust PLC (Jordinvest) is now contributing to the INJAZ School Adoption Program, through adopting Samir Al Rifai School under the Golden Package.
The School Adoption Program (SAP) is a national program initiated by INJAZ for the Creation of Economic Opportunities for Jordanian Youth and implemented by INJAZ and its two strategic partners; the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Private Sector. The purpose of the program is to support the development of the Jordanian educational sector, and to help create a new 'culture' in which the private sector plays a major and direct role in the development of the educational system, and in closing the existing gap between the skills acquired through education and the skills required by the job market.
Working within the goals and objectives of this program, Jordinvest, is drawing upon its vast experiences and sound reputation in the fields of finance and investment to pass on its expertise to younger generations.
Employees from the firm are making weekly visits to a Jordanian public school to conduct INJAZ courses for ninth graders, and talk to them about the role that the private sector plays in developing national economies, and the benefits that the student gains from interacting with privately-owned entities.
The program also included a one Day Master Class (MC) training course. The MC course involves a 4 to 5 hour training session, often conducted by an expert in the business field. Last month, the MC session was conducted by Mr. Ahmad Tantash Chairman/CEO of Jordinvest, and Board Member of INJAZ Board of Trustees. During this session students took part in group activities that in turn allowed them to test their managerial and leadership skills. They got an opportunity to develop and market their own products, and to also share the past experiences of well established entrepreneurs in Jordan through batteries of presentations.
When asked to comment on the firm's involvement in INJAZ School Adoption Program, Mr. Ahmad Tantash said," We at the firm strongly believe that our economy has great potential for advancement and we feel that we are an integral part of the Jordanian community. This is why we always look for opportunities in which we can pass on our experiences to the general public and our contribution to this particular project stems directly form our strong belief in our youth."
Adding " By educating those individuals and providing them with the tools they need to excel in their fields of interest, we are thus staging Jordan's economy towards achieving further bloom and enhancement in the years to come. We at Jordinvest are glad to give back to our community after all it is our community's support and belief in us that makes us strong today."
From her end, Mrs. Deema Bibi, CEO of INJAZ, thanked Jordinvest for their contribution in the program and for the continuous support for INJAZ. She highlighted that the program enables the private sector to play a more effective role in perceiving the educational sector's needs and having a greater input in the educational process
Jordinvest always strives to contribute to the development of the local and regional economic scene. It is its strong belief in the generations to come that inspires it to proactively, and effectively motivate Jordan's youth and to guide it towards achieving more in the future.
