Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum sponsored students for the First Medical Conference on Youth Extension 2006, Dubai

The First Medical Congress on Youth Extension concluded yesterday, after shedding light on the latest techniques in Anti-aging remedies, equipment, treatments and cures.

The conference held over three days took place at Al Murooj Rotana, Dubai. It saw a huge participation of specialists and public. The conference was the platform for discussing many issues relating to anti-aging, good nutrition, as well as an occasion for introducing and projecting the latest techniques in the medical field of youth extension.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Executive Office of Dubai, in an honorable initiative and as a mark of his acknowledgment of the congress, decided to support students to enable them get updated on recent discoveries and technologies in their fields of interest and specialization by paying the registration fees of a large number of students for this conference.

The First Medical Congress on Youth Extension has been held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Humeid AL Qattami, UAE Minister of Health. It is the first of its kind in the Middle East and was organized by Etisal, the Event Management and Public Relations Company based in Dubai. It was supported by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Services in Dubai Police and was held in cooperation with Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Award for Medical Sciences

Mr. Ali Bin Shekr, the official representative of the Ministry of Health, pointed out the importance of following up on the latest scientific and medical advances in his speech. He said that special attention had to be given to keep updated on technologies dealing with anti-aging. He indicated the necessity of promoting health awareness and good nutrition, in addition to using modern tools and techniques to benefit from the latest advanced remedial services.

Dr. Ali Singel, Manager of the Department of Medical Services in Dubai Police and the President of the Conference Committee, said that the search for everlasting youth and health and anti-aging remedies is an eternal one. This obsessive search, unfortunately, has led many people to get into trouble they could have avoided. He said that wherever we look, we can see anti-aging products with different meanings, contents and promises. If the promises are not fulfilled, it has also led to disturbances many a time.

Dr. Singel added that the conference highlighted the results of international research in the field of anti-aging and introduced participants to the latest in the modern medical field regarding the process of slowing down or preventing anti-aging. However, he said it was clear that at this point of time; many people in the Arab World ignored medical techniques that provided safe remedies.

One of the significant speakers in the conference was Dr. Patrick Holford from the UK who has 50 books on nutrition and Alzheimer's to his credit. He spoke about five ways for preventing the aging of the brain and for preventing Alzheimer's and also stressed the importance of resisting this disease by using proper nutrition, in addition to the other remedies.

Prof. Mohammed Deeb Eid of Saudi Arabia put forward a new technique which he invented that has to do with providing one of the ways of anti-aging treatment.

Dr. Ayman Hajjar spoke on Botox, one of the first steps in beautification remedies that is being implemented commonly today.

Dr. Lana Badreddine of Lebanon presented her views on the ethical side of the anti-aging medicines.

Dr. Franz Hasengschwandtner of Germany concluded the conference by illustrating Lipolysis per Injections.
